STUDENT CONDUCT

Most students who come to City College of San Francisco wish to learn in an environment which is harmonious and conducive to good teaching and learning. As a student, you are expected to help the College community maintain this environment. Student discipline is intended to help students correct inappropriate behavior, defined as a violation of one or more of the "Rules of Student Conduct" (fully outlined in the Catalog). The College prefers to use example, counseling, and admonition to help students develop responsible student conduct rather than to use others types of disciplinary action. However, if counseling and admonition are not effective, the college community will take the appropriate student disciplinary sanctions which fit both the nature and seriousness of the violations of the "Rules of Student Conduct." Student due process will be observed to protect any student from unfair and arbitrary imposition of serious penalties. Student discipline and the "Rules of Student Conduct" apply to all students, regardless of psychological or emotional state.
