Learning Assistance Center

Located in the Rosenberg Library on the 2nd floor, the LAC is an invaluable resource for students. Aside from being the home of WSP, the LAC offers tutoring in English, ESL, Math, Science, Foreign Langauges and other subjects. The LAC is the hub of academic support at CCSF, and you can find counseling, study groups, and computer labs.

ESL tutoring and workshops are offered in the Learning Assistance Center. Workshops are held in R222, and tutoring is offered at the tables in the back of the LAC. Five to six workshops a day are offered during the week, and a two-hour workshop is offered on Saturdays. Students are permitted three 20-minute tutoring sessions each week. Workshops and tutoring are reserved for students enrolled in CCSF ESL classes.

The City College of San Francisco Writing Lab offers

tutoring, workshops, and other writing resources

to City College students. Peer and faculty tutors

work with students individually. Tutoring

sessions are drop-in and are limited to 30 minutes per day,

up to twice per week.

NEW! Grammar Table :
Faculty grammar tutors are available in the Lab at specified times to help you work on grammar and improve your proofreading skills. This semester, the Grammar Table is open at the following times:
Tuesdays, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Wednesdays, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Thursdays, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

TIP: Bring a draft of a paper you're working on with you to the Grammar Table.

The Reading Lab assists students who want to improve their reading skills using computer software, self-paced materials, and cassette tape recordings. Tutors assist students with their reading and study techniques when they encounter difficulties in their academic classes. You can come to the Reading Lab for up to two hours every day. The Lab primarily serves students in English K, L, 9, 90, and 92, but with the permission of the instructor, students in other English classes may use the lab to improve their reading skills.
