 Pharmacy Technician

What will this program do for me?
This certificate program prepares students to work as technicians in pharmacies utilizing automation and math ability for safe medical dosages. Emphasis will be on optimum patient clinical outcome and customer services. For more information, please call (415) 561-1900.

What kind of job can I get once I complete the program?
Positions available are pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or home care pharmacy.

How much can I earn in this career?
$10.00 - $18.00/hour depending on responsibility, duties and work schedule. Please refer to Occupational Outlook Handbook for current information on salary and job prospects.

How long will the program take?
The program should take two semesters if the applicant does not need to take college algebra or remedial English courses. Student should have taken chemistry in high school and some anatomy or medical terminology courses.

What time of day are classes offered?
Classes are offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Clinical experience is scheduled during daytime hours. Students must be available Monday through Friday and evening hours. Please refer to Schedules for Credit Classes for current specific course locations and times.
