What will this program do for me?
The program of study for the Certificate of Completion in Medical Office Assisting is designed to prepare students for employment in medical offices, clinics, and health centers.  

What kind of job can I get once I complete the program?
Employment opportunities are available in physicians' offices, outpatient clinics, independent laboratories, home care agencies, and other medical facilities. 

How much can I earn in this career?

How long will the program take?
Students beginning Medical Administrative Assisting courses in the Fall Semester will take three semesters plus one summer session to complete the program requirements.

How do I enroll ?
For new students, click here to apply for admission. You may also call Admissions directly at (415) 239-3285. Next, take the City College Placement Test and attend the program orientation. You must then arrange for an appointment with an advisor. You may also enroll on the first day of classes after meeting with the program advisor. Bring your placement scores and unofficial transcripts for any classes you have completed.

Where will classes be held?
Most Medical Administrative Assisting Classes are offered at the John Adams Campus. A few courses may be available at other sites.

What time of day are classes offered?
Classes are generally offered during the day. Some Classes may be available during the evening. Please refer to the Schedules for Credit Classes for more information on class times and locations.

What are the requirements for the certification?
Completion of all courses within the Medical Administrative Assisting Program with a "C" grade or higher and an overall grade point average of 2.5.

How much money can I expect to spend while enrolled in this program?
