What will this program do for me?
Upon program completion and after having passed both the State and National
Board Examinations, you may seek employment as a radiologic technologist.
What
kind of job can I get once I complete the program?
As a diagnostic radiologic technologist, you can work in a hospital
radiology department, a private radiology office, an orthopedic surgeon's
office, a clinic and as a salesperson of radiology equipment.
How
much can I earn in this career?
Beginning salaries in San Francisco in 1996-97 average about $35,000.00
per year. As an experienced radiographer, you can expect your salary
to increase. Another way to increase your salary is to specialize in
certain areas and gain expertise to enhance your value as an employee.
Eventually, you can pursue an administrative position or enter the field

How
long will the program take?
The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Program at City College of San Francisco
is 32 months in length and must include at least an A.S. Degree. To find out more about course requirements, please refer to the Program Curriculum.
Where
will classes be held?
All course work, except clinical education, is held at City College
of San Francisco. The clinical education is held at our six affiliate
clinical sites: California Pacific Medical Center, Davies Medical Center,
Mt. Zion Medical Center, St. Mary's Medical Center, San Francisco General
Hospital and Veteran's Administration Medical Center.

What
time of day are classes offered?
Classes are offered at various times throughout the day. Because of
the program requirement to perform x-ray examinations by day, no classes
are offered during evening hours. Check the Schedules for Credit Classes for important dates, times, and locations.
When

We accept students for both the Fall and Spring Semesters. Please refer to the Schedules for Credit Classes for important dates, times, and locations.
How
do I enroll?
This program requires the submission of a separate application in addition
to the general College application. Each year, the deadline to apply
for the Fall Semester is March. The deadline
for Spring Semester is October 1. For new

What
are the requirements for receiving a degree?
Graduation from City College of San Francisco Diagnostic Medical Imaging
Program and successful completion of the certification examination are
required. The approval comes from the State of California, Radiation
Health Branch, Certification Division and the Joint Review Committee
on Education in Radiologic Technology. Please refer the Program Curriculum for more information on degree requirements.
How
much money can I expect to spend?
The major costs are the books (approximately $150.00 per semester),
and one uniform (approximately $75.00). Please refer to Tuition
