Conflict Resolution with Youth

Good conflict resolution skills are imperative for success in the community, on the job, at school, and with inter-personal relationships. They arise on a daily basis in our work with youth. It is important that caregivers be able to model appropriate conflict resolution skills as well as mediate the conflict resolution process. Examine a model for working with youth whose difficulties in resolving conflicts have led to placement failures, relationship failures, and losses of freedom.  Develop a greater ability to listen to clients as they work through difficult feelings and learn to have a calm presence even in crisis situations.
