Description:

Examine the basic premise of Urie Bronfenbrenner’s Bio-Ecological Change theory: that human development is a result of complex interactions between a child and his/her environment. This theory considers the child’s genetic and prenatal experiences as well as familial, social, cultural, and political environments. Explore the principles of wrap-around services in which children, youth, and families are strengthened when providers, community members, and families work as partners within a family-centered network of services. These principles include: family voice and choice, team-based, natural supports, collaboration, community-based, culturally competent, individualized, strengths based, persistence, and outcome-based practices.

Edgewood charges $3 for lunch; email fcs-training@ccsf.edu at least 48 hours in advance to order lunch. Students are welcome to bring bag lunches if they are staying all day.
