WebCT at CCSF

WebCT (now Blackboard CE) is a course management tool used internationally by both online and face-to-face instructors. Read about WebCT's vision for learning without limits.

At CCSF, WebCT is used for online teaching and to enhance your traditional face to face course (tech-enhanced mode)If you are interested in online teaching, contact the Technology Mediated Instruction (TMI) Department. If you are interested in using WebCT in the tech-enhanced mode, read on.

WebCT can offer a private web-based area to extend your classroom. Available tools include:

• Content modules: 24/7 access to course materials for your students
• Communication tools: a discussion board, a mail client, chat rooms
• Tracking of every page your students access
• Assignment tool, testing tool, and grade book
• A student homepage area
• A student presentation area
• A calendar, syllabus tool, glossary tool, and more.

Get Started Using WebCT:

• To get started with WebCT at CCSF, view the WebCT Prerequisites page and follow the instructions.

• Fill out the Application to use WebCT in the "Tech-enhanced" mode. Complete the online form or download the MSWord version and send the completed form to Carol Reitan at the TLC, Box LB2, or via email to creitan@ccsf.edu.
