Changing from Contribute 2 to Contribute 3

• Pay special attention to the Preparations below.

Preparations

Documents: Make sure that you have copies on a disk of all documents that you link to on your site: syllabus, schedule, whatever. The docs can be on the computer where Contribute 3 will be installed or on a Zip disk or CD. Using Contribute 3, you will have to redo links to these files so that Contribute can upload them to your new site.

Steps to take: See the accompanying document on transferring from Contribute 2 to Contribute 3 for a detailed timeline. Here are the steps that you should follow:

1. Call the Help Desk (239-3711) to schedule an appointment to have Contribute 2 uninstalled and Contribute 3 installed on your desktop or to bring in your laptop.
2. Email Luis ( lmuniz@ccsf.edu ) or call or email Vic (452-5318; vfascio@ccsf.edu ) to get your new Contribute 3 key and password. Luis will be away during November.
3. Activate your Contribute 3 key: Remember that you must login using your network (or Mac) account and then activate your new key on every CCSF computer on which you want to use Contribute 3. Store the emails with your Contribute 3 key and key passwords in an email folder. (Delete your Contribute 2 keys so there is no mix-up!)
4. Redo Contribute site using Contribute 3.
   Remember those help and refresher sessions on Nov 5 and Nov 16!
5. Email Vic Fascio (vfascio@ccsf.edu) when you are ready to get your Contribute 3 site activated: the old C2 URL — http://www.ccsf.edu/ yrlogin — will then point to your new Contribute 3 site.
6. Informational: January 14 (Flex day): Contribute 2 sites deactivated/erased.
