Technology Grants Available for Departmental Training
Funding is once again available for the training of faculty and staff in the development of competencies for telecommunications and technology. This fund supports departmental training activities for full-time and part-time administrative, faculty, and classified employees in the use of technology to improve instruction, services and operations of the College District.
Funding is available for technology training that is not offered by the Technology Learning Center, the Office of Professional Development's Flex program, the Library or ITS. The Technology Department Grant proposal can be submitted by an individual, but must benefit the department by offering training for software or equipment that is used by the department.
The training may be for a group or an individual, who then will train others in the department. The grant can be used to cover the costs of a trainer or purchase of tutorials or services that provide self-paced training. Funding may not be used to cover the costs of equipment, software and supplies other than self-paced tutorials.
Interested departments may apply now for grants to be delivered during the 2006-2007 school year. Applications will be accepted until available funds are depleted.
