About the TLC

The TLC is the office that organizes the Technology Professional Development Training Program.  Training is delivered in a variety of modes to meet the needs of CCSF faculty and staff.  From hands-on workshops, to online training, to sessions created specifically for your department's needs, the TLC wants you to feel comfortable using the tools we all need as educators in the 21st century.

The open lab for all CCSF Faculty and Staff is located in Batmale Hall, room 313 on the Ocean campus.  CCSF employees can come to to the lab to get one-on-one help and technical support in their efforts to build skills in the use of technology to improve college services and instruction.

The Technology Learning Center (TLC) is partially funded by the California Community Colleges Technology Infrastructure Program, a part of the Technology Human Resources Fund.

The accomplishments of the TLC are listed in the document, "Summary of Activities, Projects and Support Services, July 2000- February 2004".  See also a history of the TLC's involvement with the Desktop Upgrade Initiative.

Technical Support

The TLC provides on-site technical support by staff and student interns/lab aides. To arrange an appointment for a half-hour tutorial with a student worker, please call James Rogers at 239-3711. Additionally, the lab is staffed each morning and most afternoons by Help Desk and TLC staff.  Come in to work on a project knowing that help is nearby!

Help Desk

James Rogers is the Help Desk Coordinator. The Help Desk is another source of technical support for CCSF faculty and staff. You can reach the Help Desk at 239-3711 or at the Help Desk website, http://www.ccsf.org/helpdesk. Phone messages left in voice mail will be returned in one working day. E-mail can be directed to helpdesk@ccsf.org.

TLC Coordinator

New TLC coordinator Carol Reitan comes on board at the beginning of the Spring semester. Carol will be familiar to many of you from the Rosenberg Library Language lab, from the TLTR, and, for Web afficionados, as the creator of CCSF's most visited Web pages (on French language and grammar). You can reach Carol by email at creitan@ccsf.edu or by phone at 239-3554.

Former TLC Coordinator, Barbara Stewart, has stepped down to teach ESL once again. Although we will all miss Barbara's daily presence, she will continue to  pursue special projects in the TLC.  Contact Barbara at bstewart@ccsf.edu or by phone at 452-5125.
