Transferring Students

TITLE:              Booker T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship for Transferring Students

AMOUNT:         $ 1,000.



REQUIREMENTS:

1. Submit transcripts and evidence of current enrollment in a
    minimum of six units at CCSF.

2. Exhibit financial need
3. Excellence in reaching personal and academic goals despite
    the odds.

4. Leadership qualities that inspire others to pursue and
    achieve excellence despite personal obstacles.

5. Pursuit of objectives that benefit African Americans,
    American Society and humanity in general.

6. Diligence, persistence, consistence, determination, courage
    and perseverance in achieving personal, academic and
    community goals.

7. Compassion and concern that fortify others to feel at home
    in the world.

8. Submit three or more letters of recommendation from CCSF
    personnel or persons from the community that attest to and
    document the candidate's possession of several of the
    success behaviors and attributes listed, as well as the
    candidate's achievement, character and potential for making
    a contribution to society.

COMMENTS:    This scholarship is for African American students born in the U.S.
                        transferring to a baccalaureate institution in Fall 2006 and are planning to
                        pursue careers involving math, science, philosophy, theology, logic,
                        technology, politics, American government, strategic planning , law,
                        economics or engineering.  The award is based on financial need.  
                        The Personal Statement will play a major role in the applicant’s selection
