About Us
The New Student Counseling Department (NSCD) serves
all students who have completed 24 units or fewer
or who have less than one year of college.
Counselors provide orientation to students who
are new to the college; guide students in the development
of their educational plan; lead students to essential
support services; and assist students with personal
concerns and the development of good study skills. NSCD
counselors can discuss with you requirements for
a certificate, degree, or transfer to a 4-year
institution.
