Susana Mayorga joined LSN as a
full-time counselor in 2002. A former community college
and first generation student, Susana is honored to serve
students and support them as they pursue their educational
goals. She received her Associate's Degree from the
College of San Mateo (CSM), her Bachelor's degree from the
University of California, Berkeley (UCB), and her Master's
from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Jorge
Avila
comes to us from Southern California and is currently a
full-time counselor with LSN. His previous experience
includes several years as a high school counselor and
college advisor, teaching at the elementary and secondary
levels, and he served as a school administrator/principal
for seven years. Jorge left the world of K-12 to pursue his
dream of becoming a community college counselor. As a
student, Jorge transferred from East Los Angeles College to
the University of California, Riverside, where he earned his
Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minored in Spanish
Literature. He later received his Teaching and
Administrative Credentials from Whittier College and his
Master’s in Counseling from Michigan State University.
Anastasia Fiandaca has been
with LSN since 2002 and is committed to providing students
with the information, support, and encouragement they need
to achieve their goals. Anastasia is a first-generation
college student, the oldest of five children, and received
her BA in Psychology and an MS in counseling.
Leticia Silva is
a first generation college student who transferred from community
college to San Francisco State University where she earned
a BA in Social Science and MS in Counseling. While earning
her degrees, she
worked for San Francisco State’s Summer Bridge
program and Student Outreach Service. She was also an
Academic Advisor for Student Support Services at SFSU. Her
training included a
two-semester
internship at the Continuing
Student Counseling Department
at
City College of San Francisco. Her
experience as a first generation college student helps her to provide encouragement,
support and information to students so that they too
can realize their academic goals.
Office Manager
Marina Colindres has been
with CCSF for twenty years, and is a CCSF graduate. She
enjoys assisting students in meeting their various personal
and academic needs; she is a co-founder of the Latina Educational
Support Group (LESG).
