Lab Rules for Using the Learning Assistance Center Computer Labs

1. You must check-in at the Computer Lab Service Counter:
a. You must have a valid current semester CCSF Student ID with barcode;
b. You may obtain a CCSF Student ID card at the Registration Office, Smith Hall
Room 118.

2. You should have a 3½-inch floppy disk or 100 MB Zip disk on which you will save your work every five to ten minutes--disks can be purchased at the bookstore annex. We do not sell or lend disks.

3. Laser printing is available in black and white, 10¢ per page. You may purchase, or add value to a Print/Copy Card with one of the card vending machines located at the Computer Lab Service Counter. You will be charged for every page out of the printer, including blank pages, so please use print preview before printing. You may pick up or cancel your print jobs at the Print Release Station. Unclaimed print jobs will be deleted after four hours.

4. There is a two hour time limit on all computers when other students are waiting.

5. Please ask at the Computer Lab Service Counter about getting lab credit.

6. If you need assistance, raise your hand, and a lab aide will come to assist you. Lab aides can help you to resolve some technical difficulties, but are instructed not to do your homework. Lab aides are not responsible for your lost files or other mishaps. You are responsible for getting your work done and turned in on time. Additional assistance is available in ICL-1 (L301), the DSPS High-Tech Center (L231), and the Business Lab (C111).

7. Please do not shut down your computer.

12. Only one student is permitted at each computer.

13. Disabled students have priority at designated stations.

14. CCSF “Rules of Student Conduct” and “Computer Usage Policy” are strictly enforced.

15. You will be asked to leave if you disturb others or are in violation of any of these lab rules.
