The First Light Project is a mentoring program for students who are currently enrole in any astronomy classes. The aim is to provide a supportive environment for learning in astronomy. The project is run by students for students. The project began its mission since Fall 2002, and it is sponsored by the Office of Mentoring and Service-Learning and the Astronomy Department at CCSF.. |

Spring 2009 Astronomy Student Mentors’ Office Hours at the Planetarium (Science Hall Room 406) will begin after , January 21, 2009 and end on May 14, 2009: Regular Mentor Hours: Monday through Thursday, 1- 4 PM; Friday, 1 - 3 PM. Note: The mentors’ schedule is subjected to last minute changes. Click here to download a PDF version of the schedule. We have Mentors for ASTR 1, 4, 14, 16, 17, & 18.. In addition, we have Reading and Writing Group for ESL students enroll in ASTR 1 & 14 -- click here for latest information. NOTE: Some general rules and expectation before you send an email to a mentor: 1. Visit them first before you send any email(s). 2. Identify yourself on the Subject or Header of the email with your name and student ID #. 3. Check the email address before you push the send button. If you do not receive a reply, there maybe many different reasons for that. The best way to find out the reason is to visit them at the Planetarium during their office hours.
