Disbursement Enrollment Requirements City College of San Francisco (CCSF) will deposit your Financial Aid check directly to your checking or saving account or mail your Financial Aid check(s) to your mailing address as it has been established with the Admissions and Records Office in Conlan Hall, Room 107. The amount of funds printed on each check in most cases is directly related to the number of units you are enrolled in, and are in the system at the time of production. Please refer to the disbursement schedule, regarding the disbursement dates. The Financial Aid Office will not authorize early disbursement of checks. Arrangements may be made with the Financial Aid Office if you wish to pick up your check(s) in person. We will acknowledge this arrangement until you tell us otherwise. Checks Will Be Available In Conlan Hall Rm. E104 At The Student Accounting Office, Monday Through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. You must show both your student ID and a picture ID with your signature in order for your check(s) to be released. Checks not picked up as scheduled will be canceled thirty (30) days after the check availability date (see Disbursement Calendar). It is your responsibility to notify the Financial Aid Office of any unusual circumstances which may affect your ability to pick up your check(s). DISBURSEMENT ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR FALL 2006 & SPRING 2007
FEDERAL PELL GRANT- DISBURSEMENT ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS To assist you in meeting college costs, the Financial Aid Office schedules a Federal Pell Grant disbursement prior to the beginning of the semester. You will receive 50% of Pell award for the semester prorated based on your enrollment status. When the semester starts, you must begin to attend all classes for which you received the payment. September 12, 2006 and February 5, 2007 are the cut-off dates for determining your Federal Pell payment amount for Fall 2006 and Spring 2007. This means that the number of units you have in the student database as of these dates will determine the final Pell amount that you will receive. For example, if you received an amount representing full enrollment of 12 units or more, on or before September 12, 2006 and February 5, 2007, and you drop to less than full time, you might owe a repayment and you are responsible for the difference between what you receive initially and what you should be paid based on the units in the database as of September 12, 2006 and February 5, 2007. If your initial Federal Pell payment for the semester is scheduled after September 12, 2006 and February 5, 2007, your Pell check amount is based on the units you have in the database as of the date of your disbursement. FEDERAL STAFFORD LOAN You might be eligible for a Federal Stafford Loan. If you wish to apply, please inquire at the Financial Aid Office about Stafford processing procedures and the maximum loan limits. All student borrowers must attend a Loan Counseling Entrance Interview (review workshop schedule). You must also provide supporting documentation, Driver’s License or State ID. You must attend a Loan Counseling Exit Interview upon graduation, transfer, or termination of enrollment at City College of San Francisco.
The CCSF Financial Aid Office must verify that you have at least 6 units before the Federal Stafford check can be released. FEDERAL WORK STUDY If you have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS), please read this information. Federal Work Study is a financial assistance program that enables you to work part-time (up to 15 hours per week). Jobs are located on and off campus. Your FWS offer is the maximum amount you may earn; it does not guarantee you a job placement. In order to locate employment, please contact the Career Development and Placement Center (CDPC) in Science Hall Rm. 127 or phone 415-239-3117. Job opportunities are listed on the bulletin board outside of the CDPC Office. You may also contact potential employers directly, such as the various offices and departments on campus. In order to accept the FWS offer, you need to find employment and submit a hiring form to the Financial Aid Office. The first day you may work is the first day of the semester. Paychecks are issued bi-weekly and may be picked up at the Payroll Office, Rm. 104 Conlan Hall. You must keep a record of how much you are earning. You may not be paid more than what your FWS award authorizes. Your financial aid assistant may determine if an increase in your FWS award is possible. If you drop below 6 units or withdraw from school, you must stop working immediately. SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS (SAP) The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended by Congress, mandates institutions of higher education to establish minimum standards of “satisfactory academic progress” for students receiving financial assistance. City College of San Francisco makes these standards applicable to all financial aid programs. It is the responsibility of every student applying for financial aid at City College of San Francisco to become familiar with the institution’s satisfactory academic progress standards and the policies and procedures which regulate these standards (please refer to the SAP form).
DISABLED STUDENTS Disabled students who need assistance with accessing and processing of financial aid at City College of San Francisco, and who are unable to gain access to the Financial Aid Office should contact the Disabled Student Programs and Services Office at (415) 452-5481.
