What is EOPS?
EOPS is a state funded counseling and special services programs designed to assist low income at risk students by facilitating their enrollment at the community college and providing services to promote their retention, graduation, transfer and employment.
What services does EOPS offer?
- Academic, career and personal counseling, placement test interpretation and orientation
- Peer advising, mentoring and academic progress monitoring.
- Outreach, recruitment, orientation, priority registration, and a summer enrichment program for high school students who plan to attend city college the following fall semester
- California State University and University of California transfer application fee waivers.
- Concurrent enrollment in the City College/San Francisco State University Transfer Articulation Bridge Program. The goal of the TAB program is to increase the transfer rate of EOPS and other under-represented students to San Francisco State University.
What special programs are within EOPS?
- The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program provides services to students who are single head of household with a dependant(s) who is under the age of 14 years old.
- The Pre-trial Diversion and Second Chance programs assist former offenders with their educational and career goals.
How do I qualify?
- You must be a California Resident.
- You must enroll in a minimum of 12 units of credit classes each semester.
- You must complete less than 70 degree applicable college units.
- You must take the City College English and Math Placement Tests.
- You must apply for financial aid and qualify for a BOGG A or B fee waiver.
How do I apply?
- Complete a City College Admissions Application (Conlan Hall E-107).
- Complete a City College EOPS Application (EOPS Building adjacent to Smith Hall).
