Confidentiality and Legal Rights for Students with Disabilities

Confidentiality

In accordance with the Right to Privacy Act, all disability related contracts with the DSPS Office remain confidential unless the person with the disability signs a written release.

Your Legal Rights

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 require that colleges provide services and accommodations to individuals with disabilities.

If you have a grievance, please contact a DSPS counselor. DSPS has an established review process to resolve noncompliance issues which is available upon request. You have a right to appeal any decision.
