Photo Portfolio Workshop: Digital & Gelatin Silver Lecture Only
Class #: PH402, PH404
Photography is once again in the process of re-inventing itself! In this class students will be encouraged to pursue individual investigation of personal imagery. The class will help to provide the photographer with a forum in which the development and the exchange of ideas is possible; in which we can rethink the assumptions and practices that surround the changes that have occurred, moving from the analog to the digital world. This course will cover a wide range of technical & aesthetic concerns, which will vary class to class according to the individual work presented. Each student will photograph individual projects of their choice, which will be reviewed in a critique format. The students should be prepared to work independently, have begun to formulate a personal imagery and be prepared to meet for group discussions. Students must bring a portfolio of work to the first meeting.

San Francisco Photo Walk
Class #: PH462 Register Now
Spend the day walking and photgraphing through some of San Francisco's most scenic neighborhoods. The class will meet and begin at the central stairs of the San Francisco Ferry Building. Some time will be spent around the ferry building before walking toward the Bay Bridge along the Embarcadero, through the financial district, and into Chinatown & Stockton Street. If time permits, we will return to the Ferry Building by the Filbert steps. Using film and/or digital, there will be discussions of the use of lenses, filters, along with lighting and composition (and people oftern learn so much from one another in groups like this). Please carry some water and a small snack.
