 Business (Computerized) Machine Technology

What will this program do for me?
This program prepares students for employment in the area of microprocessor-controlled equipment and machines, and sales and service in small business ownership. This program also prepares students to matriculate into an electronics technician program.

What kind of job can I get once I complete the program?
Installation of alarm systems and maintenance, microprocessor-controlled equipment sales, and service and repair of office machines and systems.

How much can I earn in this career?
Salaries vary. Please refer to Occupational Outlook Handbook for current information on salary and job prospects.

How long will the program take?
Usually two semesters. Please refer to Program Curriculum for specific requirement information.

What time of day are classes offered?
Daytime classes are offered. Please refer to Schedules for Credit Classes for class times and locations.

When do classes start?
Open-entry enrollment allows students to begin anytime. However, it is best to start at the beginning of the semester. Fall Semester begins in August, while Spring Semester begins in January of each year. Check the Schedules for Credit Classes for class times and locations.

How do I enroll?
In order to register for noncredit courses, please attend the first class meeting. For more information on noncredit classes, please go refer to Admission to Noncredit Classes. Or you may contact the Southeast Campus at (415) 550-4320.

What are the requirements for certification?
Completion of the following objectives: Computerized Machine Technology; Math & Communication Skills; Computer Repair. Please refer to Program Curriculum for specific requirement information.

How much will this cost?
There is no fee for noncredit courses; however, books and materials must be provided by the student.
