The program will prepare for employment in information resource centers and libraries as library technicians or library assistants.

kind of job can I get once I complete the program?
Mid-level work in a library/information center. This could be in Public
Services, Technical Services, or Automation.
How
much can I earn in this career?
In the Bay Area, starting salaries are around $21,000 per year. After
many years of experience, the salary rate can increase to as high as
$40,000 per year. Please refer to Occupational

job prospects.
How
long will the program take?
The program requires at least an A.A. degree and 19 units of course
work in the Department. This could take one year if a person already
has a degree, but normally the course of study is two years.

Classes are held at the CCSF Phelan Campus, located at 50 Phelan Avenue,
in the Rosenberg Library.

much money can I expect to spend?
Tuition of $18 per unit for the 19 units (or more, if working on an
A.A. Degree), plus fees for books. To date, there are no lab fees, however,
they could be introduced in the future. Please
