will this program do for me?
This program offers a Certificate of Completion. The CAD curriculum is
designed to meet the needs of students desiring entry-level or
promotional positions in Architectural/Engineering/Construction (AEC)
industries. The program gives you the opportunity to learn and use
state-of-the-art CAD and illustration software and equipment.
What
kind of job can I get once I complete the program?
You may find work as a CAD drafter or as a CAD project manager. The
CAD certificate program can greatly enhance your professional prospects
if you are already an architect, engineer, or designer, or if you have
some level of education in those disciplines to qualify you for a
position in the AEC industry. Depending on which courses you complete,
you may also find that the portfolio you develop during the CAD
certificate program may qualify you for a technical illustration,
graphic production, or animation position.
How
much can I earn in this career?
Typical hourly rates for a CAD drafter range from $15-$25. Salaries
for project managers, architects, engineers and designers typically earn

How
long will it take?
The Certificate requires the completion of five (5) CAD courses in the
Engineering & Technology department, 3 units each. Please refer to

time of day are classes offered?
Some CAD courses are conveniently offered during evening hours, from
6:00-10:00 p.m., so students may participate after working hours. Some
courses are also offered during weekday hours. Please check the

What
are the requirements for certification?
Students may obtain the Certificate of Completion in CAD/CAM by completing
the following courses with a grade of "C" or higher. ET 86, ET 140, ET 181,
ET 182
(students are expected to have basic drafting and manufacturing process skills. If not they should enroll in ET 104).
