expected to participate in this year’s event. To get
the most out of your Career Fair experience CDPC is inviting
students to come to a Preparing for the Career Fair Workshop

from 11:00-12:00 in Science 121. For information about these
workshops or other workshops offered by CDPC please check the
CDPC website,

Job Search Checklist
Looking for Work On or Off - Campus? CDPC has created a handy
checklist that will assist you when looking for on and off campus
employment. This guide isn’t meant as the final word in
job search but we feel it will at least get you going in the
right direction! Use the resources and ask a lot of questions.
Please see a career counselor in Science 127 for further assistance.
Decide what kind of part/full time job you want; what have you
done in the past; what skills do you have; how many hours each
week can you work: REMEMBER don’t over load your schedule;
you’re a student first.
On-campus employment with academic departments: The best method
is to go directly to the department (pick up a list of all departments
and locations at the Career Center, located in Science 127).
Ask if they have work-study or lab aide positions. This is best
done in the first two weeks of each semester.
Use Career Connection on
the CCSF website or drop by the Career Center to view the Career
Connection Job Binder.
Another good source for jobs and internships is MonsterTrak To
get the password to MonsterTrak visit the Career Center or email
Careerchat
To view other job or internship announcements you may also stop
by the Career Center in Science 127 to look at the off-campus
job and internship binders.
The Employment Development Department has a good listing on their
web site CalJobs.
This is easy to access and you can search by county (look at
all the Bay Area counties to increase your chances).
IMPORTANT HINT: job search takes time…be patient!
