Decide what kind of part-time/full-time job you want:
• What have you done in the past?
• What skills do you have?
• How many hours each week can you work?
REMEMBER: Don’t overload your schedule; you’re a student first.

Stop by the Career Development Center in Sci 127 and look at the off-campus job binders; ask staff for help if needed!
Use CAREER CONNECTION on the CCSF website www.ccsf.edu/career to see off-campus jobs for CCSF students only.
HINT: CHECK OUT THE STUDENT SUBSCRIPTION!
Another good source for jobs and internships is MonsterTRAK; go to www.ccsf.edu/Services/CDPC; to Student/Alumni; MonsterTRAK; get PASSWORD from Sci 127 (or email careerchat@ccsf.edu).

BE PATIENT!!!!! Call CDPC 239-3117 for an appointment.
SKILLS, SKILLS, AND MORE SKILLS…
What do employers look for in their interviewing candidates? The U.S. Department of Labor reports that “most employers want either self-management or transferable skills.” Here are the top skills employers look for beyond job-related skills:
• The ability to learn new things
• Basic academic skills in reading, writing, and computation
• Good communication, including listening and speaking
• Creative thinking and problem solving
• Self-esteem, motivation, and goal setting
• Personal and career development skills
