    INFORMATIONAL INTERVIEWING
An informational interview is a good way to get first hand information about a particular individual, company or profession. It's a chance for students to get specific questions answered that might help in career exploration and decision making. The following are a few questions and guidelines that can help students conduct an informational interview.

    1. Name of occupation and person being interviewed.
    2. What are your primary work tasks? Describe a typical day for you.
    3. What education does your occupation require?
    4. What skills are required to work in this occupation?
    5. What personality characteristics are useful for people in your profession?
    6. How would you descibe the work setting of your occupation?
    7. What is the salary range of this occupation?
    8. Is this occupation limited to certain areas of the country?
    9. What are some of the pros and cons of this work?
    10. What do you like and/or dislike about this job?
