Access and analyze data and produce information visualizations to discover patterns. Fundamental skills and concepts for Data Science, applicable for scientists, journalists, business people, and database programmers. Requires programming in a language of student's choice.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:Outcome 1: Select, inspect and import data from common file formats. Outcome 2: Determine suitable axes and ranges to display a given dataset. Outcome 3: Select the classes of visualization most appropriate for a given dataset. Outcome 4: Produce information visualizations suitable for decision-making or publication. Outcome 5: Analyze and fine-tune elements of an information graphic to enhance readability.
