Advanced academic reading skills and strategies. Practice in various forms of composition and research necessary for college academic work. High-advanced level vocabulary and grammar study. Language skills integrated on the basis of academic tasks and content.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Apply a variety of advanced reading skills and strategies to authentic multi-paragraph texts of conceptual and/or linguistic complexity.
- Outcome 2: Compose, organize, and revise expository essays and essay tests using new vocabulary and grammatically correct high-advanced sentence structures.
- Outcome 3: Comprehend and produce grammar structures appropriate to a high-advanced level.
- Outcome 4: Use learning strategies and academic skills for the development of reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar skills appropriate to a high-advanced level.
