"I began getting into teaching in 1993 by volunteer tutoring elderly literacy students at the Southest Campus of CCSF."

Later, I was hired as a part-time teacher at CCSF and the San Francisco Conservation Corps. In the summer of 2001 I became a full-time instructor in the Transitional Studies Dept. of CCSF.

I enjoy intellectualizing, studying and interacting with students. So, following a family legacy, being a teacher suits me well.

Being a mother also suits me, which makes for a full schedule. I am preoccupied with my son's formal and informal education.

I feel it's important to acculturate and encourage our students in the role of "student" because many of them are the first in their families to go to college, or get a high school diploma.
