I read some of " The Joy Luck Club". There is a sentence like this. "If it hadn't been for the Japanese, there would have been plenty of
reason for fighting to break out among these different people." It brings out this idea to me.
Among these people, There are different beliefs, different education, different cultures, and different financial situations. They are afraid of the plenty of differences among them. And the fear of difference is represented by hates among people. They look down on others because they have to confirm their position by making groups who have similar conditions including culture, education, and power. There is more serious reason to hate each other that they think they have to keep their position against other groups. The fear of difference is human instinct. But it can be removed by knowing each other, not dividing into groups. Making a move against this human instinct needs great effort. But it will be worth making progress which people can be happy together. |
