All In A Summer's Day: Discrimination

contributed by Melanie O'Hare

This prompt followed a reading of the short story "All Summer in a Day," by Ray Bradbury. It was used in ESL 52 and 58. (credit)

In "All Summer in a Day," the children discriminated against Margot. Why do people in general discriminate against each other? Give two reasons for discrimination and explain them. Give a specific example to support one of your reasons. This example may come from your own experience, your observations, or your reading (You may use an example from "All Summer in a Day.").
