Students Learning Outcome:

Students will create an outline in Microsoft Word, and an accompanying PowerPoint presentation based on this outline.

Procedure:
1. Demonstrate on the projector the steps to writing a simple outline.

2. Students write an outline and share it with a partner. Students practice process writing, speaking, and listening skills in this activity. Teacher circulates to check each outline for proper mechanics.

3. Teacher demonstrates how to create a PowerPoint presentation using the information from the outline. See attached examples: one is teacher-generated, and the other is a sample slide made by a student.

4. Students share their finished products with a partner. Teacher can ask for a couple volunteers to show their complete PowerPoint Presentation with the class on the teacher's computer and screen.

5. Students can also print out their PowerPoint presentations and post on a class bulletin board.
