City College of San Francisco and Berkeley City College offer a range of classes—some as short as a day, others as long as a semester—for community health workers and social services paraprofessionals. In addition to enrolling in the courses required for a certificate or degree in your chosen field, you can also pursue a wide range of courses that will help you build up your basic skills, explore related topics, and advance in your profession. Through T-TEC, we also offer courses at a number of community locations, as well as on campus, to make courses as accessible to you as possible.
If you’re just starting to think about returning to school, or have been out
of school for a long time, you might consider a class on study skills or reading/writing
skills. T-TEC is working with multiple departments to create “fundamental skills”
courses that are tailored to the needs and interests of community health workers
and social services paraprofessionals. To find information about these types
of classes at City College of San Francisco visit the Learning Assistance Center
