ARCHITECTURE

RevitArchitecture™ Fundamentals
Class #: CAC01A <Class Full>

Learn the essentials of building information modeling (BIM) with Revit Architecture™ in this 5-week workshop.   Using BIM software gives architects a competitive edge, allowing them to work intuitively in 3D, capture early design thinking, shorten production times and streamline decision-making.  This Fundamentals workshop will cover starting, viewing and developing a building model, working in teams, detailing and callouts, and construction documentation.  You will also learn how to import/export/link AutoCAD files and Revit files, and create components and groups.  Taught by an experienced Revit user and trainer, each session meets from 9:00-2:30, with a 45 minute break.  Participants should bring a 2 GB memory stick to store projects. This class is limited to 25 participants.

Basic CAD Pattern Drafting using Gerber Technologies™
Class #: CAC01F

Register at http://www.ccsf.edu/Services/Continuing_Education/textf/cact.html
This workshop is aimed at those who have a firm grasp of flat pattern drafting concepts, either by hand-drafting or using some other CAD program, and who wish to learn how to use Gerber Technologies™, the program that has been the industry standard for garment and sewn product manufacture for years. In this 8-session workshop you will learn to use this powerful CAD tool to manipulate pattern blocks or slopers, and create complete production patterns for new styles. The San Francisco Center for Applied Competitive Technologies (SFCACT) has one of the few fully-equipped Gerber training labs in the Bay Area, housed at City College's Evans Campus. Our goal is to assist designers and pattern makers to upgrade their job skills in a cost-effective way. For more information contact designstudio@ccsf.edu
