Construction started in August, 2005 of the new Mission Campus, which is located in the heart of the Mission District and will not only serve the educational needs, but the community as well. Many of the features of the 1935 and 1938 “art nouveau” building will be preserved, where Mission Campus and San Francisco Unified School District’s Downtown High School are located. The addition of two 4 story buildings will create a secure courtyard for the needed outdoor space.
