MISSION
Using
the tools of team-building, advocacy, and education,
together with available funding resources, the HARTS
Program at CCSF seeks to maintain homeless/at risk
students in their present programs and assist in the
enrollment and success of similar students at City
College by:
-
providing
immediate resources and support for CCSF students
who are experiencing difficulties related to at-risk/homelessness
and poverty.
-
providing
access to City College for potential students by
establishing links with human service agencies
and community-based organizations who work with
the homeless and others suffering the results of
poverty, creating a direct referral and support
system.
-
advocating
the student's cause before faculty, administration,
and classmates.
-
establishing
integrated institution-wide permanent support systems
and programs for the homeless/at-risk population
at City College.
-
fostering
an awareness within the City College community
of the large number of homeless/at risk students,
while at the same time dispelling myths and fallacies
about homelessness and poverty.
-
serving
as liaison and resource for City College instructors
and their homeless/at-risk students.
-
impact
homelessness and poverty through collaborations
and networking with departments, outside programs,
agencies, colleges, and universities
