Welcome!
This space provides introdcutory information about my course offerings at CCSF, my interests, professional experience and qualifications, as well as access for students to some course materials. Feel free to contact me if you have further questions and/or comments.

Teaching graphic design is exciting to me because it's a dynamic profession that is characterized by constant change. In addition, the theory and practice of visual communication connects and can be applied to a variety of other fields. My special area of interest focuses on creating visuals, environments and experiences for multicultural audiences which is enhanced by personal experience as a bicultural (born and raised in Europe) as well as informed by studying intercultural communication and by practicing as a consultant, facilitator, and trainer for corporate and non-profit clients, as well as for local communities.

Teaching at City College is challenging and extremely rewarding due to the fact that its community is comprised of many cultures, and every day opens new windows into a multicultural world that strives for mutual respect and models partnership.

I have extensive experience in 2D and 3D design, exhibition design, interactive installation and performance art, and graphic facilitation (community, corporate, non-profit); I am a practicing social activist, facilitator, and trainer; and my latest projects took me to cross-cultural dialogues in The Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

In addition to teaching and consulting I function as a resource faculty for the Multicultural Infusion Project (MIP), and as a faculty sponsor for several service learning and peer mentoring programs at CCSF. I am currently completing my dissertation at CIIS (California Institute of Integral Studies.) In my spare time I enjoy traveling, scuba diving, skiing, and working out at the gym.
