B.A., M.A., Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures, University of California at Berkeley.  Major areas of interest: Russian language, culture, literature, intellectual history.  I teach at San Francisco State University as well and will be taking a group of SFSU and CCSF students to St. Petersburg this summer to study Russian for 4 weeks.  At CCSF I teach language courses, including Conversational Russian, and 3 courses in English: Russian Culture and Civilization, Nineteenth-Century Russian Literature in Translation, and Twentieth-Century Russian Literature in Translation.
