I have been a DSPS instructor at CCSF since 1987 and a Learning Specialist since 1981. My interest in Learning Disabilities began after I had completed my B.A. in Sociology from U.C. Berkeley and had started to work on a K-12 teaching credential. After student teaching in a Resource Room, I decided to get my Masters Degree in Special Education, focusing on Learning Disabilities, which I completed at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City. At UCSF I worked with all ages in the Reading and Language clinic then came to CCSF where I have created and taught three DSPS classes, and currently test students to determine eligibility for Learning Disabilities. My passion is creative learning and thinking. I will always be researching ways that individuals can work with their potential to develop their analytical and conceptual skills. As a Learning Specialist and Educational Therapist in private practice I am always interested in how one can maximize their learning.
