INDUSTRY INTERNSHIP

Observation and supervised off-campus experience in an approved broadcast electronic media industry installation such as a television station, a video production firm, a radio station, a music recording studio or business, a corporate media production department, or a multimedia production team. Resumé writing, communication skills, and job interview techniques. CSU

CO-REQUISITES
Enrollment in minimum of SEVEN units of course work at City College of San Francisco (including this course) and consent of instructor. This class does not place students in industry internships.  Students are responsible for identifying and procuring an internship.The instructor will coach and support students in the process of procuring an industry internship.

Handouts and articles will be provided online.  To log onto the course go to the WebCT log on page.  Your ID is your student ID # and, for students NEW to CCSF online classes, your intial password is  changeme  .  E-mail fpodensk@ccsf.edu if you have problems logging on.
SYLLABUS and ASSIGNMENTS

You will be sent instructions by e-mail about how to log onto the course during the first week of instruction. Please make sure that the contact information on WebStars (the online registration system) is current.  You will receive an e-mail sent to the address you have entered as CCSF contact info on WebStars. If you have a yahoo or hotmail e-mail address, these systems frequently regard e-mails from City College of San Francisco as SPAM.  It is important you check your SPAM filtered e-mail messages for an e-mail with the subject "Welcome to City College of San Francisco's College and Industry Internships Online". Class syllabus is accessible by following the directions included in the e-mail you will receive during the first week of instruction. ALL FACE TO FACE CLASS MEETINGS WILL BE IN ArtX 170 on Ocean Campus. OPTIONAL: Online Internship Class Orientation meetings on Ocean Campus.

Dates for THREE required face to face meetings will be posted on this site the first week of instruction.  Students will be able to choose one of two scheduled sessions for EACH of the three required face to face meetings.  These meetings are scheduled either on a Wednesday at 5:30pm or a Friday at 12:15 pm. 

Students with UNpaid internships are required to work 120 hours during the semester.  Students with PAID internships are required to work a minimum of 150 hours during the semester.
