Week 1-2             

FIRST DAY (Wellness Center-Pool) – Introduction, Grading Policies and Class procedures. 

Beginner’s First Day in the pool, basic water safety, bobbing, flutter kick, basic freestyle stroke

Week 3-4            

Backfloat, Frog Kick – 12-min Swim/walk

Week 5              

Elementary Backstroke, Reverses

Week 6              

Deep water practice, Treading Water

Week 7              

Breaststroke, Freestyle Breathing review

Week 8              

Assists,  2nd. 12-Minute Swim

Week 9              

Deep water skills

Week 10            

Backcrawl

Week 11           

Freestyle Review

Week 12          

Rescue Breathing

Week 13           

Review

Week 14          

Take Home Final Quiz distribution

Week 15           

Return Take Home Quiz, 3rd. 12-Minute Swim

Week 16           

Last Day Swim, quizzes returned, final grades.

All classes will include a review of previous classes.  This is only a general outline of a beginning class.  Each class as well as each individual will progress at their own speed.
