"BEST" ARCHERY FORM

Stance: 45 degree stance with top foot slightly ahead of bottom.  Feet are a comfortable shoulder width apart straddling the shooting line.  Flat Back, ribs down position.  60% weight on toes, 40% on heels.

GRIP BOW: with knuckles at 45 degrees

Hook 3 fingers: one string (one finger above nock, 2 fingers below) Set hook with a slightly flexed wrist

PRE DRAW:  Scoop to raise bow arm, roll elbow down (engage tricepts)

 -Longer pre-draw tension on string

 -Turn head toward target

DRAW: string to anchor position* on face using back muscles pulling the left shoulder blade toward the right -Transfer (right handers)  Draw 2 inches below chin, then move to Anchor position below chin.

ALIGN: draw

AIM: Find point-of-aim, or place site on target

RELEASE: Relax the drawing hand to release the string

FOLLOW THRU: Drawing hand moves back.  Hold the follow-through position until the arrow hits the target

Under Chin Anchor – Draw hand under chin, touch string to chin & nose, hand under jaw
