Class and Classism
PREREQUISITES

TEXTBOOKS

All reading material will be distributed to student by the instructor.  Students can pick up an introductory reading packet the week before class begins outside instructor's office (Batmale 626).

SYLLABUS
This class examines class and classism in the United States today from a social justice perspective, using concepts from sociology and political economy.  In this participatory class students will examine how people experience class and classism, sociological and political economic approaches to understanding class, and historical and recent struggles by U.S. workers against class inequality.   Like the other classes in this series, this course assumes that all forms of oppression are interrelated and interact in our lives.
COURSE ANNOUNCEMENTS
This 0.5-unit course is presented each February.  It meets on one or two Saturdays for a total of 8 hours.
