City College of San Francisco is an Advanced Transportation Technology
Energy (ATTE) Center, one of 10 community college centers throughout
the state. CCSF provides classes, workshops and customized trainings
with expertise in areas such as Geographic Information Systems, skill
advancement for public sector transit workers, alternative fuel technology,
and intelligent transportation systems. ATTE’s successes include
workshops and courses in biodiesel, motorcycle maintenance and repair,
straight vegetable oil conversions, hydrogen technology workshops and
classes in Geographic Information Systems. As part of ATTE, CCSF is
part of a statewide program to train technicians to meet the challenges
of tomorrows imminent transportation technologies.
CCSF is also a community college with more than 100,000 students that
annually take courses. Classes are offered day, evening and weekends
at one of nine campuses and dozens of community centers throughout the
city with flexible modes of delivery (credit, free non-credit, free
for senior courses). Courses can be customized to meet student demand
for quick delivery of specific topics and the workforce and economic
development needs of San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.
