AC Scholarship Recipients for Spring 2007

Yeni Chen is the winner of the Grand Scholarship. Her major is Biochemistry.

Phyo Sandi Aung aspires to study Biochemistry and enroll in Pharmacy
School to carry on research in new drugs to fight cancer and other diseases..

Marilyn Bunag is the mother of a child with health problems. Her major is
Computer Networking and Information Technology.

Karen Bonnie Chang intends to go to Medical School and has already shadowed
UCSF endocrinologist Dr. Masharani.

Bin Bin Chen is active on campus as someone interested in making change.
Her major is Psychology.

Guanxi Chen is an active member of Project Shine on campus. She is majoring
in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Angela Chu provided interpreter services at several clinics and has been active as a
fund raiser. Her major is Registered Nursing.

Vinnirique (Nikki) Mullen Cruz wants to earn a doctorate degree and become a
and college professor of sociology.

Zu C. Huang intends to major in Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science and become a professor or researcher in bio-electronics or microelectro-
mechanical systems.

Samnang Kaplan is an active volunteer with several organizations in the City. His
major is Broadcasting Electronic Media Arts.

Tiffany Lam founded the Psychology Club. She is an active member in volunteer
organizations in Chinatown and her major is Psychology.

Wint Wah Lwin has chosen Bioengineering as her major because she is interested in making artificial organs and improving the quality of advanced prostheses.

Minh Chau Thanh Nguyen is applying to San Francisco State University as a Nursing major and to UC Berkeley as a Psychology major.

APASS scholarship recipients for Spring 2007

Glen Lee plans to transfer to San Francisco State University as a Psychology major in Fall 2008 and then pursue a master’s degree in Counseling Xue Cong Li is an immigrant student
from China, first generation college student. His major is Computer Science and
he hopes to transfer to UC Berkeley.

Losaline Mafuahingano is the first in her family to go to college. She plans to transfer to San Francisco State University as a Business Administration major.

Nikhom Thephakaysone is the first in his family to go to college. He plans to transfer to San Francisco State University as a Psychology major and then pursue a master’s degree in Counseling.

Dennis Wong will be the first in his family to graduate from college. With an AS degree in Criminal Justice he plans to attend SFSU. His dream is to become a juvenile probation officer.
