Due to the budget shortfall in California, City College lost $18 million of its operating budget for the 2009-2010 school year. To balance this loss we sought additional funds and cut costs, including reductions in student services, classes, salaries, and benefits. More cuts have arrived for 2010-2011. (Learn more about the budget.)

Everyone working at CCSF -- board members, administrators, faculty, and classified staff -- has pulled together to share the burden of this budget reduction. But we're not done. We are always looking for ways to save money and cut costs, and in Spring 2010, thousands of you shared your ideas. Our judges combed through the submissions to find the top ten best cost-saving or money-making ideas. See more about the winners and prizes on our Results page.
