City College of San Francisco is the largest multi-campus
single district community college in the state of California. City College
was established in 1935 to meet the educational needs of the San Francisco
community. City College offers Credit and Noncredit classes at nine campuses
and over 100 sites throughout the city of San Francisco. The nine City
College campuses and their locations are: Alemany (located in the Tenderloin);
John Adams (Western Addition / Haight/Ashbury); Castro / Valencia; Chinatown
/ North Beach; Downtown; Evans (India Basin / Bayview); Mission; Southeast
(Bayview / Hunter’s Point); and the main campus at Phelan (Ocean View /
Merced / Ingleside).
City College offers courses in 150 academic and
vocational programs to help meet both students’ and community needs. The
college confers Associate of Arts and Science degrees and grants Certificates
of Completion to students enrolled in our vocational programs. City College's
innovative educational programs are designed to: help students meet their
general education requirements for four-year colleges and universities;
prepare students for employment; remove educational deficiencies; or receive
other special preparation.
