NEWLY-ELECTED COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SWEARING-IN CEREMONY

SCHEDULED

The Honorable Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr., of San Francisco will

administer the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected trustees for the

San Francisco Community College District, Dr. Natalie Berg, Rodel E.

Rodis, Milton Marks III, and Julio J. Ramos on Monday, January 8 at 6

p.m. in the Green Room, 2nd floor, War Memorial Veterans Building, 401

Van Ness Avenue. The ceremony is being held by the Board of Trustees of

City College of San Francisco and Dr. Philip R. Day, Jr., Chancellor.

Dr. Natalie Berg, Ed.D., was elected to the San Francisco Community

College District Board of Trustees in November 1996, and was its

president during 1997. Prior to that, Dr. Berg had served City College

of San Francisco in a number of faculty and administrative capacities

spanning 30 years.

Rodel E. Rodis served as President of the Board of Trustees of City

College of San Francisco throughout 1998, and Vice President of the

Board during 1997 following his re-election in 1996. Mr. Rodis was

appointed to the Board by Mayor Art Agnos in 1991 after having served

two terms as President of the SF Public Utilities Commission.

Milton Marks III employed as the Executive Director of Friends of the

Urban Forest since 1997, is responsible for day-to-day management,

administration fundraising and fiscal control of the San Francisco-based

nonprofit organization. Previously, Mr. Marks worked in an executive

capacity with several nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia,

Pennsylvania area.

Julio J. Ramos is employed as a trial attorney with the California

Public Utilities Commission, Office of Ratepayer Advocate, dealing with

energy and internet regulatory issues. Previously, Mr. Ramos worked as a

litigation associate with the law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Green & MacRae.

Music will be performed by the faculty of City College’s Music

Department. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
