Important Information

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS:


HOW TO APPLY

To be considered for admissions as a International Student to City College of San Francisco, the following documents must be completed in full and submitted to the International Student Office, Conlan Hall (E-107) by November 2nd (for the Spring semester) or May 15th (for the Fall semester).  If all of the documents that are listed below are not received by the deadlines, your application will not be considered.

    1. OFFICIAL results of the International TOEFL test. (You must have a minimum score 473 on the written exam or 153 in the computer based exam in order to be considered for admissions.) NOTE: Institutional TOEFL score results will be accepted).

    2. You must be a high school graduate and must submit OFFICIAL Diploma and Transcripts of all high school and college work previously completed, if available.

NOTE: Transcripts must be official and must be translated in English.

    3. OFFICIAL bank certification indicating the amount of funds available to you at the time of application. The Bank Certification must list a SPECIFIC U.S. DOLLAR AMOUNT.  The bank certification must verify a minimum of $18,000 in U.S. dollars in order to insure you have sufficient resources to pay for tuition and living expenses while studying at City College for every year that you are enrolled.  If the sponsor is a U.S. citizen or resident, they need to complete an Affidavit of Support Form. The Affidavit of Support must be notarized.

NOTE: If your bank certification is not specified in U.S. dollars, your admissions application may be denied.

     4. Copies of both sides of your I-94 form, title page and visa page of your passport if you are presently in the United States and a copy of your I-20 ID (student copy) if you are on F-1 (student) visa status.

    5. International Student Preliminary Application. [ A $50 NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE MUST ACCOMPANY YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION IN THE FORM OF A MONEY ORDER (POST OFFICE)].
NOTE: personal checks and cash will not be accepted.

There is also a $100.00 fee for the SEVIS SYSTEM payable before you make an appointment with the American Embassy in your Home Country.
 

IMPORTANT: PLEASE INDICATE YOUR FULL NAME ON THE LOWER PORTION OF ALL THE MONEY ORDERS.

     6. The International Student Admissions Office will review your application.   The tuition fee of $2,159 is due upon registration or no later than 14 days after your registration in classes. THIS AMOUNT MAY CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. This fee is calculated based on 12 units of course which must maintain each semester.  You must also maintain those 12 units with a cumulative grade point average of 2.00.

Students who transfer from another Secondary or Post Secondary U.S. institution to City College of San Francisco must comply with all INS transfer eligibility requirements.  For information regarding transfer requirement please call (415) 239-3837, Fax: (415) 239-3936 or come to International Student Office, Conlan Hall (E-107).
