Hi, my name is Sherita Moeser and I am currently a student at City College of San Francisco. I never thought that I could afford to go to college. I am a single parent; my daughter is one year old. I was working for the San Francisco Giants as a cashier. I went to the Calworks office and they told me if I was serious they would pay for my books and daycare. When I finally started, I felt really good about myself. I am proud to say that I have finished my first year of college successfully with straight A’s. I feel that City College of San Francisco made me a better student as well as a better person. With budget cuts, there will be a lot more students left behind.
